Jeremy - 5/14/2026

Today was packed with incredible experiences that gave us a deeper understanding of Korean culture beyond just the sports industry.

Our morning started with a lecture that taught us the basics of Korea. One of the highlights was learning how to write our names in Korean. We also learned how to write "Syracuse" and "Orange" in Korean characters, which was a fun challenge that really helped us connect with the culture around us.

After the lecture, we headed to a PC bang - a Korean gaming café that's a huge part of youth culture here. These aren't like internet cafes back home; they're designed specifically for gaming with high-end computers, comfortable chairs, and snacks you can order right to your station. We spent time playing video games and watching YouTube videos while eating at our setups. The atmosphere was electric, and it was cool to experience how seriously Koreans take their gaming culture.

The highlight of my day came next: screen golf at a Korean golf simulator facility. The simulator technology was incredibly realistic, tracking every aspect of your swing and ball flight.

Out of our group, I finished in 7th place, which I'm pretty proud of. But the real moment came when I sank an eagle - watching that ball drop on the screen was absolutely thrilling. The simulator's graphics made it feel like I was actually on a real course, and celebrating that eagle with the group made it even better.

Days like this remind me why this study abroad program is a once in a lifetime experience. We're not just learning about sports management in a classroom - we're experiencing the culture firsthand.
